It has been a long time since Globe was able to celebrate National GDay on September 17 (09/17). After taking special measures due to the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, they joined hands with ChatGenie to power contactless transactions at this year’s G Music Festival alongside Winkle Donuts, Engkanto Brewery, Daniel Baker, and Schroeder’s Deli.
Hassle on long lines and waiting times
The 917 celebration this year featured several Filipino and international artists on stage, art installations, Globe product promotions, and so many more. But there was definitely only one area all festival goers would visit at least once throughout the celebration, and that would be the food and beverage area. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, day-long festivals would always be incomplete without a few snacks in between. Festival-goers always had to expect the hassle of waiting through long lines, while competing with the thousands of other customers trying to get their favorite snacks. While most people have gotten accustomed to ordering from their homes, ChatGenie has tried to solve the line-waiting dilemma.
Introducing ChatGenie’s Mini App to customers beyond the screen
ChatGenie brings the future through contactless transactions, providing merchants with a platform to collect, accept, and process orders digitally even while on ground. While ChatGenie has already provided Globe with a customized solution for their lifestyle application, we still see growth and relevance in creating more advanced solutions for smoother merchant and consumer relations as we go back to having on-ground events.
Having Winkle Donuts, Daniel Baker, Engkanto Brewery, and Schroeder’s Deli activate their Mini Apps for frictionless social commerce transactions during the G Music Festival, these merchants had been able to manage their transactions on their ChatGenie Dashboard, and view the status or orders with ease, helping them get ready for queued orders and customers lined up. For customers, all they had to do is open the merchant’s Mini App through Messenger or their online stores using the QR code provided, add to cart, and check out as they were on the way to the stall.
Merchants were also able to use the Promos and Coupons feature to ChatGenie which allowed them to offer exclusive discounts for their customers during the event without the hassle of having to track different codes manually. With several orders coming in, merchants would not have to consume more of their time rechecking codes one-by-one, since they were provided with the feature to access and view the orders in real-time and promos codes directly through their ChatGenie Dashboard.
Counting G Music x ChatGenie wins in numbers
ChatGenie prides itself for its smooth customer transactions by avoiding having to switch Apps, or external links to process orders. Lines were moving quicker and the merchants were working more efficiently through having themselves and their menus available online as well. Having a Mini App as a contactless solution was able to improve health and safety measures for our partners with a special deal on 917 day, matching the perfect weather and enjoyable activities for all festival-goers.
Social commerce through the merchants’ Mini Apps really created a new customer experience and culture by incorporating technology and the internet to daily purchasing habits.
ChatGenie and Globe were able to facilitate 234 orders for this first-ever online purchasing experience at an on-ground event.
