Welcome to the latest part of our Team Member Profile series, where we put the spotlight on the people behind ChatGenie. For this installment, we’ll be focusing on Khryzzle Hojas, our Community Manager.
Follow this series to get to know everyone on the team, pick up pieces of advice on tech and business, and hopefully - be inspired!

Khryzzle Hojas is our resident social media maven. Officially, she’s our Community Manager but she is so much more than that. Working at a startup means wearing multiple hats and Khryzzle is the perfect embodiment of that. Apart from coming up with ChatGenie’s social media strategy, she also has her very own business.
Before ChatGenie, Khryzzle's work experiences were mostly in an advertising agency. She worked under the social media team in a digital agency and as an account manager in a media agency. While she did enjoy her stint there, she wanted to explore opportunities outside the advertising agency industry and be part of growing the brand of a company. She stumbled upon ChatGenie's opening in Kalibrr and since the job description mainly revolved around strategy, content planning, and digital marketing in general, her interest was piqued. Apart from that, ChatGenie's mission resonated with her given that she had also recently started her own small business.
Her job's main role is to make sure that our community is engaged. This includes being heavy on establishing communication strategies, ensuring what we release is relevant to our audience, and evaluating these initiatives based on actual numbers. When she was in college, she felt that she only had two options after graduation - end up on the creative side of marketing or the strategic planning side. She always envisioned herself to be on the latter one, but she loves about being part of the ChatGenie team is that she gets to experience both sides since its a very collaborative team.
There are definitely a lot of differences between her current position and her work in the advertising agency but the very thing that she likes the most is her ability to get deeply involved in building something that she completely believes in. Since it's a startup company, she also appreciates how well heard our voices here are.
When asked about the future is social media, she said she’s expecting social selling to continually grow.
“We're being more and more reliant on social media and I won't be surprised when there will be a day that all of our transactions are made inside the apps that we love. I guess one of the tips I'd like to share to thrive in social media is this: know your core values as a brand and don't be afraid to try out new things on social media and mix them with your own flavor. Social media is evolving, so you should too. What's great about ChatGenie is we make hopping on some of these trends easier for you like live selling, themed-promos, etc.”

What have you learned from being CG’s community manager as well as running your own business? Any tips?
“Don't forget your why! It's easy to just go with the flow with your usual routine or to just stick with what's familiar. But I think when we always try to stay grounded on why we do things - it will keep us going (even on days we don't want to) and it will help us stay creative (what can I do differently this time?). This applies both to my work as a community manager and in running my businesses. It's important to always know your objective AND purpose. My major tip: just keep showing up! I believe when we stay consistent with the things we believe in (or with our plans), we'll eventually see growth. Showing up doesn't always mean grinding - sometimes, it's as simple as resting today so you can keep on showing up in the long run.”
